Studying your A Level

A Level Economics builds significantly on GCSE level knowledge by applying economic theory to support analysis of current economic problems. You will learn about the interdependence of microeconomies and macroeconomies and appreciate the roles they each play.

You will be challenged to think critically about key issues and make arguments and recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative evidence.

This A Level in economics will explore economic methodology, price determination in relation to production and costs, market mechanisms and more.

Upon completion of this course you will understand the operation of markets and market failures. You will also understand the national economy in a global context.

This course will also give you a strong foundation upon which to study economics at a degree level.

Great news! To start this course there are no pre-entry requirements. To start straightaway all you need is a computer, tablet or mobile device and an internet connection!

Assessment

At the end of each unit you will find an end of unit assignment. This is completed online and submitted to your tutor. Once assessed your tutor will return your work complete with its final grade and feedback. Once you’ve successfully passed each unit you’ll be ready to take your exam!

Qualifications

At the end of this course, if you decide to take an exam, after passing you’ll have gained an A-Level in Economics, which can enable you to go on to further and higher education programmes and can also help give you access to some universities.
