Frequently Asked Questions

This course goes beyond basic cuts and preparation. You'll learn everything from setting up your workspace and using dog grooming tools to giving a healthy bath and trim. But it doesn't stop there - you'll also gain crucial knowledge of animal welfare, canine health and first aid, and even how to communicate effectively with clients, giving you a well-rounded foundation to excel in your dog grooming career.
Dog groomers play a vital role in spotting potential health issues early on. Their close examination during grooming can reveal skin problems, lumps, or signs of discomfort that owners might miss. By recognising these signs, dog groomers can advise owners to seek veterinary attention, potentially catching health problems before they become serious.
Employed groomers typically earn around £23,400 a year, and experienced groomers can make even more. If you dream of being your own boss, opening your own grooming business allows you to set your rates and potentially earn significantly more!
Yes, it will! This course ideal for anyone who may have a background in grooming or animal care and wants to expand fully into an employed dog grooming role.
Age is no barrier to becoming a dog groomer! The job requires passion and a willingness to learn, not back-breaking strength. In fact, some people find a career change to dog grooming later in life fulfilling, bringing new skills and the joy of working with animals. If you're passionate about dogs and their wellbeing, go for it!
