On completion of this unit you will:

Unit 2: Provide Manicure and Pedicure Treatments

On completion of this unit you will:

• Be able to prepare for manicure and pedicure treatments
• Be able to provide manicure and pedicure treatments

Unit 3: Provide Facial Skin Care Treatments

On completion of this unit you will:

• Be able to use safe and effective methods of working when improving and maintaining facial skin condition
• Be able to consult, plan and prepare for facials with clients
• Be able to improve and maintain skin condition
• Understand organisational and legal requirements
• Understand how to work safely and effectively when providing facial treatments
• Understand how to perform client consultation and treatment planning
• Understand anatomy and physiology that relates to facial skin care treatments
• Understand contra-indications that affect or restrict facial skin care treatments
• Understand facial skin care techniques, products and treatment planning
• Understand the aftercare advice to provide clients for facial care treatment

Unit 4: Enhance the Appearance of Eyebrows and Eyelashes

On completion of this unit you will:

• Be able to use safe and effective methods of working providing eyebrow and eyelash treatments
• Be able to consult, plan and prepare for the treatment with clients
• Be able to shape eyebrows
• Be able to tint eyebrows and lashes
• Be able to apply artificial eyelashes
• Understand organisational and legal requirements
• Understand how to work safely and effectively when providing eyebrow and eyelash treatments
• Understand how to perform client consultation, treatment planning and preparation
• Understand facial skin care techniques, products and treatment planning
• Understand how to tint the eyebrows and lashes
• Understand how to apply artificial lashes
• Understand the contraindications and contra-actions that affect or restrict eyebrow
• Know the equipment, materials and products to use when carrying out eyebrow and eyelash treatments

Unit 5: Apply Make-Up

On completion of this unit you will:

• Be able to prepare for make-up application
• Be able to apply make-up

Unit 6: Carry Out Waxing Services

On completion of this unit you will:

• Be able to use safe and effective methods of working when waxing
• Be able to consult, plan and prepare for waxing treatments with clients
• Be able to remove unwanted hair
• Understand organisational and legal requirements
• Understand how to work safely and effectively when providing waxing treatments
• Understand how to consult, plan and prepare for the treatment
• Know anatomy and physiology that relates to waxing treatments
• Understand contraindications that affect or restrict waxing treatments

Unit 7: Salon Practice

On completion of this unit you will:

• Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
• Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety

Entry Requirements

No experience or previous qualifications are required for enrolment on this course.

Minimum age restriction

You must be aged 16 or older to enrol.

Average completion timeframe

The average time it takes our learners to complete the course is 1 year.

Assessment requirements

There will be an assignment after each unit, as well as 3-6 observations at practical training for each unit. Case studies to complete at home also.

Placement or Practical required

10 days total - 7 days training 3 days assessments booked after they have attended the 7 days practical

Once all theory has been completed, you will begin your placement.

Exams required

Currently, you don't have to complete an exam to gain your qualification.

Is Membership Required?

No membership is required to enrol the course.

Observation by us required

Learners will be observed during the practical.

Additional requirements

Learners will be required to provide their own tunic/salon attire for practical training.

Certification Timeframe

You can expect to receive your certificate in 12 weeks, but it may take longer if an EQA sample is required.

Course Fees

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

*You will have access to the course for 24 months.

There are no exams involved with this qualification. Instead, learners will create a portfolio of evidence which will demonstrate their understanding of the units covered in the course. 

Focus

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the Focus Awards Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (RQF) (qualification number: 603/3818/0).

With this Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy, you will have developed the knowledge and confidence you need to step into a professional role as a Beauty Therapist.
