Overview
About the Level 5 Chinese Medical Theory Certificate
The course will familiarise learners with concepts like anatomy and physiology derived from Western medicine, but also notions of chi (qi), yin and yang, emotions, disease and diagnosis, healing. After these basic principles, you can continue with a deeper understanding of aromatherapy, astrology, acupuncture, brief herbal medicine, human energy field and other treatment options. This Chinese medical theory course is built on the groundwork of more than 2,500 years of Chinese medical practice which includes various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, exercise, and dietary treatment.
This course does not require any previous experience. The recommended 336 hours of study should suffice for students to gain a good overview of traditional Chinese medicine.
Who should study this course?
Amateur, student or qualified practitioner this course will take you through fundamental principles of natural medicine and how it interacts with the human body. It is perfect for anyone with an interest in natural medicine and Chinese treatments.

Requirements
There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.
Assessment
Assessment Method
After each lesson there will be a question paper, which needs to be completed and submitted to your personal tutor for marking. This method of continual assessment ensures that your personal tutor can consistently monitor your progress and provide you with assistance throughout the duration of the course.

Certification

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
Level 5 Chinese Medical Theory Certificate of Achievement
The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality Licence Scheme. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained.
