Studying your A Level

A Level Chemistry gives you the opportunity to build on your GCSE learning. The course is a big step up but you you’re rewarded with rich and varied areas of study.

A Level Chemistry allows you to study the very building blocks of life and how they interact with one another.

You will study atomic structure, bonding, the Periodic Table, alcohols, hydrocarbons, halogenoalkanes and chemical equilibrium, amongst others.

This qualification has been designed according to the AQA’s recommendations so you will complete the course with strong chemistry knowledge. This will allow you to go on to study chemistry or other science related degrees at university.

The units follow a logical structure with an easy to understand introduction to chemistry.

You will then move on to study physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry and ending with 2 manageable units in organic chemistry.

The modules are designed to help you familiarise yourself with essential concepts in chemistry in an organised, step-by-step way. This is to ensure you will be fully prepared for studying chemistry at Level 4 or higher.

Getting Started

A Level Chemistry is completely online, which means you can enrol and access your course materials at any point.
