We are looking for experienced an IQA Associate Assessor to support our Fitness Qualifications.
These roles offer flexible working hours, depending on caseload and associate availability. We’re looking for applicants that hold a recognised qualification at Level 3 or higher in Personal Training, also must hold an assessing qualification such as CAVA level 3 or A1 equivalent. Experience of tutoring adult learners. In addition, we are seeking applicants who can also undertake IQA duties, with level V1 or D34
We operate a completely flexible remote working model. Working on a self-employed Contract for Services basis, the role involves tutoring students and assessing their work remotely via our online training portal.
Rates of pay vary depending on the course and level.
Job Purpose:
To ensure high-quality, consistent, and compliant delivery and assessment of fitness qualifications by monitoring assessor practice, supporting staff development, and maintaining standards in line with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.
Key - Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Carry out risk-based sampling of learner work across assessors, qualifications, and levels
Ensure all assessment decisions are: Fair, Valid, Reliable, Sufficient
Maintain compliance with:
Awarding Organisations (e.g. Focus, Innovate, Active IQ,), Ofqual requirements, Internal policies and procedures
Monitoring Assessment Practice
Standardise assessment decisions across the team. Identify and address inconsistencies in grading Assessor Support & Development
Provide constructive feedback following sampling and observations. Support assessors with:
- CPD planning
- Standardisation activities
- Best practice in fitness assessment
- Deliver or facilitate standardisation meetings
What we are looking for in you (Essential):
- Experience of assessing fitness qualifications
- Experience of internal quality assurance / sampling
- Working with awarding organisations and EQA processes
- Experience supporting or mentoring assessors
- Must have a recognised qualification at level 3 or higher in Personal Training
- Must hold an assessing qualification such as CAVA level 3 or A1 (or equivalent)
- Must hold a V1 or D34 (or equivalent) in IQA
- Have the ability to problem solve using own initiative
- Be able to research supportive answers to student questions
- Be able to provide high quality assessment decisions
- Be digitally skilled in Microsoft Office, email and other commonly used platforms
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to analyse assessment decisions and data
- Be proactive and self-motivated
- Have excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to challenge practice constructively
- Be able to work as a part of a wider team
- Be able to work within existing processes and procedures
- Maintain own professional development to ensure the highest quality service to learners
