How it works

Three steps. About 60 seconds.

01

Pick the subject you want to study

Start typing GCSE Maths, English, Biology or any of the subjects we run. Autocomplete suggests the live courses as you go, and you can type freely if your subject is not listed.

02

Answer four quick questions

Tell us about your goal, your recent study habits, the time you can give it each week and what is driving you right now. No test, no essays, done in about 60 seconds.

03

Get your readiness score

See your personal readiness score out of 100, a sub-score breakdown showing where you are strongest, and a downloadable report you can keep or talk through with an adviser.

What you get

More than a number

Most quizzes hand you a label and vanish. Ours gives you a readiness score you can act on, a breakdown of where you are strongest, and a report you can keep, on the page, the second you finish.

A personal readiness score out of 100

A single, honest number that tells you how ready you are to start an online GCSE right now, based on the four things that most predict finishing.

A sub-score breakdown

Four sub-scores (Goal Clarity, Study Habits, Time and Inspiration) so you can see exactly where you are strongest and where a little planning helps most.

A downloadable report to keep

Save your result as a PDF: hold on to it, share it with family, or bring it to your call. It includes a short get-ready plan tailored to your answers.

An optional call with an adviser

If you are ready to enrol, book a free 15-minute callback to plan your subject, exam board and start date. No obligation and no pressure.

Adults who stopped putting it off

★★★★★

I had not studied since school and I was sure I would be the least ready person on the course. The quiz showed me my score was 91 and honestly that gave me the push to actually enrol.

GCSE Maths . age 38
★★★★★

It took me about a minute and it was the sub-scores that helped. Time was my weak spot, so the adviser and I built a plan around three evenings a week before I signed up.

I needed a grade 4 in Maths for a nursing application and kept putting it off. Seeing a real readiness score made it feel possible rather than terrifying.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes, it is completely free. There is no charge to take the quiz, no card details required and no obligation to enrol. Your readiness score, the sub-score breakdown and the downloadable report are all included at no cost. If you choose to book a callback with an adviser afterwards, that is free too.
About 60 seconds. You pick your subject and then answer four short questions about your goal, your recent study habits, the time you can give it each week and what is motivating you. There is no test and nothing to revise. Most people finish in under a minute and see their score straight away.
No. The quiz has no entry requirements at all, and most online GCSE courses have no formal entry requirements either. You do not need to already hold GCSEs to enrol. Adults returning to Maths or English after a long break sometimes find a short refresher useful first, and an adviser can help you decide where to start.
Our online GCSEs are awarded by the major Ofqual-regulated exam boards: AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR. You sit the same exams and earn the same certificate as any school candidate, at an approved UK exam centre as a private candidate. Your certificate never states how or where you studied.
The score is built on the four factors that most reliably predict whether an adult learner finishes an online course: goal clarity, recent study habits, weekly time and motivation. It is a readiness indicator rather than an academic test, so it does not measure your subject knowledge. It is calibrated to be honest and encouraging, and the sub-scores are the most useful part because they show you exactly where to focus before you start.
You can download your report as a PDF to keep, and if you are ready to move forward you can book a free 15-minute callback with a course adviser. On that call we help you choose the right subject and exam board, confirm which grade you need (for example a grade 4 for most nursing, teaching and university requirements) and plan a realistic start date. There is no pressure to enrol.
Yes, as many times as you like. Circumstances change, and so does your answer about the time you can commit or what is driving you. Retaking the quiz after a few weeks is a good way to see whether your readiness has improved, and each run produces a fresh score and a new downloadable report.
In the 9 to 1 GCSE system a grade 4 is a standard pass (broadly the old grade C) and a grade 5 is a strong pass. Grade 9 is the highest. Most universities, colleges and employers accept a grade 4 in English and Maths as the baseline. You do not need to feel fully ready to start: the quiz is designed so every genuine adult learner scores in the encouraging range, and the plan in your report closes any small gaps.

Ready to find out?

Free, about 60 seconds, and your readiness score appears the moment you finish, complete with a downloadable report and the option to book a free callback.
