Whether you need English courses, Maths courses or both together, you can study at your own pace with tutor support. If you'd like to build your skills before you commit to an exam, start with a course on its own and add your exam later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I study English and Maths online?

Yes. Our online Maths courses and English courses let you study at your own pace, from home, with tutor support when you need it. There are no classroom dates to work around.

Which English and Maths course is right for me?

It depends on your goal. If you need a Level 2 qualification, our Functional Skills options are a GCSE equivalent you can study online, with or without your exam. If you'd prefer a GCSE-style route in Maths, there's IGCSE Maths including exams. If English isn't your first language, ESOL Entry Level 3 is designed for learners aged over 16 who want to improve their reading, writing and communicating in English.

Do I need any qualifications to start?

Functional Skills qualifications demonstrate that you can apply English and Maths confidently in real, everyday situations, which many employers value as much as the qualification itself. Meeting this standard can help you meet entry requirements for jobs, apprenticeships and further study that ask for a Level 2 pass.

How long do English and Maths courses take?

That depends on the course and how much time you can give it. Our Functional Skills courses give you up to 12 months, and many learners finish sooner.

Can I add my exam later?

Yes. If you choose a Functional Skills course without exams, you can add your exam later through one of our value packages, or book your exam on its own.
