On completion of this unit you will:
- Know common Specific Learning Difficulties and their main features
- Recognise signs that might indicate an individual has a Specific Learning Difficulty
- Understand the importance of professional diagnosis of a Specific learning Difficulty
- Understand the process of achieving a diagnosis of a Specific learning Difficulty
Unit 2: Sources of information, support, legislation and guidance relevant to Specific Learning Difficulties.
On completion of this unit you will:
- Understand legislation and guidance that is relevant to individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties
- Understand roles and responsibilities of those involved in protecting the rights of individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties
Unit 3: Living with a specific learning difficulty.
On completion of this unit you will:
- Understand the experiences of those living with a Specific Learning Difficulty
- Understand how society impacts upon a person with a Specific Learning Difficulty
- Understand the positive contributions that can be made by individuals with Specific Learning Difficulty in different environments
- Understand the impact of an individual’s Specific Learning Difficulty on those around them
Unit 4: Best practice relating to Specific Learning Difficulties.
On completion of this unit you will:
- Understand best practice in providing support to individuals with autism
- Understand best practice in protecting individuals with autism
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 1 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent.
Minimum age restriction
Learners must be age 16+ to enrol.
Average completion timeframe
You have 24 months to complete your course.
Assessment requirements
You will be assessed through written questions that will test the knowledge you have gained throughout the course.
Placement or Practical required
This course consists of online theory only.
Is Membership Required?
No membership required.
Certification Timeframe
Learners typically receive their certification within 12 weeks, though this can be longer if an EQA sample is required.
Course Fees
All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

At the end of each unit there is an assessment to ensure you understand and have completed the learning.
