Studying your GCSE

Economics is the study of how we, as a society manage all the different aspects of the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services.

During this GCSE course, you will gain an understanding how markets and economies work while developing vital critical thinking and analytical skills. You will also gain a solid grasp of economic issues such as inflation and budget deficit.

Your economics GCSE will teach you how global markets work, the impact of financial markets and how external factors can impact on growth, interest rates and inflation.

Each unit will challenge you to understand all the different factors that build national and global economies. And the destabilising elements that can bring it all crashing down.

At the conclusion of your course you will understand how competitive markets work, market failures, the impact of government policy and much more.
