About the Mentoring Christian Ministry

Mentorship is a relationship where a more experienced, knowledgeable person helps to guide a novice. In Christianity, ministry is the activity carried out by believers to express or spread their faith, defined as "carrying forth Christ's mission to the world" and unlike the "office of minister" it is performed by all Christians. This distance learning course will run you through the founding principles of mentoring, Bible study, following the voice of God, praying for the ministry, practising for ministry and communication skills are all modules that will help you carry out a successful mentorship.

The course has an indicative 50 hours of study, but you can take as little or as long over it. There are no deadlines and no time pressures. Take your time, pause it, or study it faster than the average indicated time, rest assured all that matters is your success.

Who should study this course?

This distance learning course that would suit anyone with a spiritual desire to connect others with Christianity or simply to spread the faith with their peers.

There are no previous work or education requirements for this course. The passion and motivation to complete the course, and a way to access the course materials are all you need.

What happens after the course?

At the end of this course you will have gained key skills in Christian studies and communication along with a strong foundation in mentorship and counselling. You can further your studies with a theological course or biblical studies.

You can find work in religious and not-for-profit institutions, but also in religious schools, or Christian communities. Apart from employment opportunities, you also have the option of volunteering in orphanages, hospitals and homeless shelters to offer care and support to those who need it most.

Entry Requirements

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

*You will have access to the course for 24 months.

On successful completion of your course you will receive the learndirect Certificate of Completion of Training in Mentoring Christian Ministry.

Your course certificate will also state the number of CPD points/hours the course is eligible for.
