This level 1 aware in mental health awareness is designed to provide you with an introduction in mental health and mental ill-health.
This course will help you understand common mental health issues and some of the common causes. You will study the effects of mental health issues can have on the individual.
You will also explore the public perception of mental health issues, as well as how the media presents them and the impact that can have.
This course is ideal for anyone who wants to get to grips with the fundamentals of mental health either as a foundation of further study, or simply just to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges individuals with mental health issues face.

There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 1 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent.

The recommended minimum age for this qualification is 14 years and above.

Assessment requirements
You will be assessed through written questions that will test the knowledge you have gained throughout the course.

Learners typically receive their certification within 12 weeks, though this can be longer if an EQA sample is required.
