About the Inner Healing Certificate
The inner healing movement has its roots in a form of pastoral counselling and the cognitive therapy called Rational Emotional Behavioural Therapy (REBT), founded by Albert Ellis. A widely used practice internationally, the therapy teaches that how we feel and behave is largely a result of what we believe to be true. REBT is used by the NHS for several disorders such as anxiety, panic, depression, certain phobias or obsessive-compulsive behaviour. This inner healing course explores the theoretical background, motivation, and emotional reality of individuals, and practical insights into psychological organization, cognitive and emotional changes, and how to achieve balance and normality.
Over the course of a recommended 60 hours, you can explore psychological theories of the self, the way to healing and transforming thought-patterns. There is no time restriction on this online course and once you have access to the study materials you can take as much or as little time as you need to finish it.
Who should study this course?
This online course is aimed at anyone looking to further their career, in the psychosocial field. But it is equally suitable to those who have an interest in the subject without any prior experience. Whether you are an experienced professional, a practising counsellor or a beginner in the world of therapy, this is a course that can benefit anyone.
You do not need any prior experience to take up this online course. You simply need an interest in inner healing therapy, and the motivation to complete the course in the time that accommodates your needs.
What happens after the course?
You can complement this inner healing course with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), to provide a balanced therapy treatment. The REBT for example, while similar to cognitive therapy, takes a more forgiving stance, like self-acceptance instead of any kind of self-rating and reinforcement of positive qualities. Studying more than one approach to therapy will offer you a better understanding of the self and others and the best treatment paths to recommend.
Inner healing is used by REBT-trained psychotherapists and counsellors that take a balanced tactic in the care they provide. There are plenty of counselling clinics as well as workplaces to find in-house employment, but also work as an independent consultant. Some of the roles you could find:

- Occupational therapist
- Psychotherapist

Entry Requirements
There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.
All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.
*You will have access to the course for 24 months.
Assessment Method
After each lesson there will be a question paper, which needs to be completed and submitted to your personal tutor for marking. This method of continual assessment ensures that your personal tutor can consistently monitor your progress and provide you with assistance throughout the duration of the course.
On successful completion of your course you will receive the learndirect Certificate of Completion of Training in Inner Healing.
Your course certificate will also state the number of CPD points/hours the course is eligible for.
