It will help them to develop their understanding of child behaviour and increase their knowledge of the role of parents in today’s society. This course aims to help learners understand the changing role of parenting and related issues in today’s society. The course outlines parents’ roles and responsibilities and covers
legislation that affects parents. It examines the different family forms found in society and how they impact on the parenting role, and identifies key stages of development in children
and learning opportunities they may have.

The course also focuses on the health and safety of children and effective child behaviour management.
