Eco Building Design
About the Eco Building Design Certificate
When designing a house, or a new building, it is very important to think about the environmental impact of the structure. For the untrained hand, this can be a little daunting as there are so many things to consider. This course has been specifically designed to help builders, architects and anyone interested in building, become eco-conscious designers.
The course is made up of a number of informative and engaging distance learning modules. These units have been cleverly designed to introduce students to important considerations such as materials, construction methods and insulation. Students will also study things such as light, acoustics and colour and discover their effect on the environment.
Who should study this course?
This home learning course has been specifically designed for individuals who work in, or are planning to find work in architecture, design, building or construction. However, this course is also suitable for those with a general interest in the environment and home improvements.
There are no specific entry requirements for students who want to enrol on this home study course. All we ask is that students have an interest in the topic and that they are motivated to engage in independent study.
What happens after the course?
On successful completion of this distance learning qualification, students will have a greater awareness of the environmental considerations involved in building. This knowledge will help future generations become more green and responsible builders.
The knowledge and skills gained on this course may also encourage students to enrol on further distance learning courses. Alternatively they may choose to search for relevant job roles or make changes in their existing careers. Jobs related to this course include:
- Environmental manager
- Property developer
- Architect
