Entry Requirements

As this is a Level 3 qualification, learners will be expected to have a good standard of written English and will be expected to use an appropriate referencing system.

The average time it takes to complete this course is 12 months.

Assessement requirements

This qualification contains a Multiple Choice examination, which is undertaken either within an examination centre or remotely from your location using an online proctoring service. The cost of this is £45. Additionally, you will be required to undertake two externally set written assignments. These assignments will be set and graded by the awarding organisation.

Learners do need to be in an appropriate work setting to allow them to satisfy the criteria of the qualification.

Marketing Principles – external assessment: an examination comprising multiple-choice Examinations will be conducted under controlled, invigilated conditions at Accredited Examination Centres.

Learners will be observed by a work-based mentor during the course.

Certification Timeframe

You should receive your certificate in 12 weeks, but that can be extended if an EQA sample is required. It is also dependent upon CIM moderation windows, details of which you can access on the CIM website.

CIM Module assessment fees: 1 x Exam module fee (including invigilation fee of £45) +  1 x assessment module fee - £265 total

This course is assessed through a combination of methods.

These include:

  • An online multiple-choice exam
  • An assignment/portfolio based on a theme or organisation of your choice

Assessments take place three times each year and are held in December, March/April, and June/July.

*Please note, you need to obtain a pass (at least 50 marks) in both modules included in this course to successfully achieve this qualification.
