On completion of this unit you will:

  • Understand the structure and function of the digestive and urinary systems

Unit 2: Human Metabolism, The Energy Balance and The Currency of Calories 
On completion of this unit you will:
  • Understand energy balance and the human body
  • Understand how the body stores and uses carbohydrates 
  • Understand how the body stores and uses protein 
  • Understand how the body stores and uses fat
  • Understand how the body stores energy
  • Understand the importance of hydration and water
  • Understand vitamins and minerals for exercise 
Unit 3: Applied Nutrition for Health
On completion of this unit you will:
  • Understand nutrition for physical activity 
  • Understand carbohydrates and the glycemic index
  • Understand the role of proteins
  • Understand fats and their role with athletes 
  • Understand the role of micronutrients                    
Unit 4: Fuelling for Athletic Performance 
On completion of this unit you will:
  • Understand hydration, water and sweat loss
  • Understand the role of metabolism in the body 
  • Understand the use of fuel before exercise 
  • Understand the use of fuel during exercise
  • Understand the use of fuel after exercise 
Unit 5: Common Diets, Food Labelling and The Effects of Marketing 
On completion of this unit you will:
  • Understand national food and nutritional government guidelines 
  • Understand the rules of food labelling
  • Understand common diets 
  • Understand food allergies and intolerances 
  • Understand analysing food diaries and fluid intake 
  • Understand how to implement nutritional change 
  • Understand professional standards for nutritional advice 
Unit 6: Supplemental Aids and Strategising Nutritional Goals for Clients 
On completion of this unit you will:
  • Understand how to agree and set nutritional goals 
  • Understand pre and post competition nutritional strategies 
  • Understand supplementation for nutrition 
  • Understand illegal supplements (Anabolics/fat burners) 

Entry Requirements

As an entry-level qualification, you will be taught everything required to understand advanced sports nutrition. As such, no prior qualifications or experience is required to enrol. 

All course fees, inclusive of all payment plans including our Premium Credit Limited option, must be settled before certification can be ordered.

*You will have access to the course for 24 months.

At the end of each unit, you will be tasked with an assignment to assess your learning. Each assignment could contain various academic tasks, such as multiple-choice assessments, written assessments and reflection documents. 

Your tutor will walk you through the process of each assignment, then once completed and submitted, they will provide you with constructive feedback. This will allow you to develop and progress on to the next stage of your study.
