Job Purpose:

The key purpose of the Student Support and Development Coordinator is to work closely with all dental learners and to secure the absolute best outcomes for learners whilst meeting all NEBDN mandatory requirements. In addition, a core focus of this role is onboarding and progression, in all aspects, of all students across the faculty. Student Support and Development Coordinator will work with senior management to ensure that the highest expectations of performance are matched with the best provision and optimise learner journey with consideration in reducing cancellations, accelerating learner completion time and increasing learner retention.

Job Overview:

  • Specify and implement learners' segmentation and their course progression in NEBDN required timelines.
  • Act as the first contact point for learners, dental practices, dental hospitals, and dental groups.
  • Act as the first contact point for dental nurses' post enrolment to reassure NEBDN compliance.
  • Work with the Dental Faculty team to communicate learners' progress.
  • To work with current and past students in the development of dental nursing skills.
  • To work with current legislative GDC framework and NEBDN Standards to validate documentation (SMA Validation, CQC Validation, GDC Validation).
  • To Implement appropriate reporting system.
  • Manage learner eligibility for dental programme including management of application forms and appropriate compliance checks.
  • Management of learning systems and cohorts and learner tracking.
  • Learners’ management of NEBDN hub.
  • Keeping employer and patient engagement within NEBDN compliance.
  • Conducting weekly job support sessions and onboard onto 12-week programme

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Student Support and Development Coordinator expertise and experience will model the highest standards to all leaders. Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaise closely with senior management to map a bespoke and precise improvement strategy in line with GDC and NEBDN Standards, jointly plan and manage the delivery of the improvement related to learner's progression and success.
  • Work to ensure that accurate information about student is gathered, analysed, and presented effectively and all requirements for data are met including SMA, CQC and GDC.
  • Make effective use of data to create and implement a robust quality assurance system which will allow to analyse learners' status and progression.
  • Ensure improvements in enrolment process and learners onboarding.
  • Monitor learners' timelines on the course post 12 weeks or once employed.
  • Manage and implement mandatory communications with employers and patients.
  • Develop and implement effective reporting on learners' status.
  • Be a proactive, and effective contributor to the Dental Faculty.
  • Ensure effective management is in place for the Hubspot and timely response of learners' queries.
  • Compelling and committed communication of the Dental Faculty vision and values.
  • Empower all staff and students to excel in their work, study, and achievement.
  • Always Work within the requirements of GDC, NEBDN and GDPR.
  • Remain vigilant to ensure all students are progressing through learning programs.
  • Work to build relationship with learners and employers.
  • Help new students with course onboarding with consideration of reducing cancellations.

Person Specification - Essential

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5 years plus experience in dental field with a good understanding of the dental industry including restrictions, GDC / CQC and NEBDN Standards up to date with RQF requirements.
  • Remote Working experience.

Qualifications -

  • NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing or Equivalent.
  • Current GDC registration.

  • Entrepreneurial nature.
  • Credible at presenting to students and practices managers and dental groups.
