Overview

Good health and safety practices are essential for any workplace, and a legal requirement. The purpose of this module is to illustrate how the Health and Safety Legislative Framework impacts on the dental environment, dental professionals working within that environment, and patients.

The Health and Safety module includes the legislation which must be adhered to, and maintaining the health and safety in the workplace to ensure a safe environment for colleagues and patients.

Modules

On completion of this CPD course, you will:

  • To gain knowledge of relevant legislation: in the workplace, incident reporting, hazardous substances (COSHH), ionising radiation and waste.
  • To be aware of all aspects of safety in the workplace: personal safety, risk assessment, materials and equipment, fire safety, lifting and moving, electrical safety and working with VDUs.

Requirements

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

Qualifications

On successful completion of your course you will receive the learndirect Certificate of Completion of Training in Health and Safety (DNNET II vol 1).

Your course certificate will also state the number of CPD points/hours the course is eligible for.
