The SQE1 Prep: Flexi-Learn is a nationally recognised preparation course, structured to guide you through the rigorous SQE1 syllabus. We understand that preparing for the SQE is a significant undertaking, and our flexible online delivery ensures that you can pursue your legal ambitions without compromising your existing commitments. This is the SQE preparation course designed with your needs in mind.

What support is available?

Our dedicated support team is here to guide you every step of the way through your SQE 1 preparation course.

• FLK1 and FLK2 subject forums: To raise queries with other learners and receive insights from tutors.
• Unlimited tutor support: 1-2-1 contact with subject matter expert tutors via email, telephone, and video call for queries on learning content, with a response time of up to 48 hours within the working week.
• Personal academic coach: Provides additional support in structuring your studies, revision planning, and guidance on next steps.
• Student services team: On hand to assist with any advice, including course guidance, pastoral requirements, or IT support.

Entry Requirements

The SQE1 Prep: Flexi-Learn is recommended for those who require part-time study and/or do not have a recent UK law degree at 2:1 or above. There are no other specific academic prerequisites to enrol on this SQE preparation course.

Enrolment dates

• For the January 2026 SQE1 assessment: Enrol and start now.
  • Please note: If enrolling after June 12, 2025, with the aim to take the January 2026 assessment, please enrol on our SQE1 Prep: Exam-Track course.
  • Last date to enrol: October 27, 2025. Course access expires: January 31, 2026.
• For the July 2026 SQE1 assessment: Enrol and start now.
  • Please note: If enrolling after December 15, 2025, with the aim to take the July 2026 assessment, please enrol on our SQE1 Prep: Exam-Track course.
  • You can enrol at any time after that date for reduced course access time, with the last date to enrol being April 27, 2026. Course access expires: July 31, 2026.
• For the January 2027 SQE1 assessment: Pre-enrol to start from November 1, 2025, for 15 months access.
  • Please note: If enrolling after June 15, 2026, with the aim to take the January 2027 assessment, please enrol on our SQE1 Prep: Exam-Track course.
  • You can enrol at any time after that date for reduced course access time, with the last date to enrol being October 26, 2026. Course access expires: January 31, 2027.

• An introduction to law: Providing insight into the role and purpose of the law.
• Components of the SQE: Direction on the requirements for each assessment, guidance on Qualifying Work Experience (QWE), and Law Training Centre’s QWE training record.
• Study skills and preparation for assessment: Guidance on study skills, methods, and what to do before, during, and after the assessment.
• Ethics and professional conduct: Ethics and professional conduct are examined pervasively across all subject areas in the SQE assessments.

On-demand learning content

• Recorded lectures: Providing an introduction to and summary of each topic to be studied.
• E-learning materials/course notes: Core learning content provided in an engaging, interactive way through our e-learning application, also available as downloadable course notes.
• Lexis+ UK subscription: Allows for additional reading to assist in depth of understanding.

Self-reflection and knowledge retrieval

• Self-test questions: Over 2000 short-answer questions designed to assess understanding and recollection of learning content and identify areas to revisit. Available to complete and repeat at any time with suggested answers.
• Multiple choice questions (MCQs): Over 1500 MCQs designed to test your functioning legal knowledge and provide practice for the assessment format. Answers are automated with correct answers and explanations provided.

Revision and exam practice

• Mock questions: Over 1000 mock questions designed in the form of SQE1 assessment style multiple choice questions, requiring a single best answer response. These are more complex than standard MCQs, drawing on multiple areas of knowledge to meet the SQE1 assessment objectives.
• The mock questions feature in the following ways:
  • Subject area mock questions: Over 350 mock questions across subject areas, designed to test understanding and application after each subject.
  • Recorded workshops: A library of over 150 revision workshops featuring over 500 mock questions across the FLK1 and FLK2 subject areas, available on demand. Includes answer explanations and guidance on MCQ exam technique.
  • Weekly live workshops: New mock questions in weekly live FLK1 and FLK2 workshops for real-time practice with tutor support (recorded for anytime access).

Timed mock assessments: An FLK1 and FLK2 timed mock assessment, each with 90 questions, to best represent the actual exam sitting. Answers and explanations are provided upon submission.

Learners can also obtain Lexis+ certification for both Legal Research and Practical Guidance, nationally recognised by law firms. Access will be provided to Lexis+ UK during the period of the course up to the completion of the final assessment.

• Lexis+ UK Legal Research Certification: Two levels (Foundation and Advanced) test your ability to research legal material and your familiarity with the Lexis+ UK Legal Research module.
• Lexis+ UK Practice Guidance Certification: Tests your ability to research and apply legal material and your familiarity with the Practical Guidance module on Lexis+.

• FLK checklists: Downloadable checklists to assist in tracking your study of functioning legal knowledge (FLK) in accordance with the SQE1 assessment specification.

Recognising that the SQE1 is a high-stakes assessment, both of our SQE preparation course options include our exclusive Passplus Guarantee. This guarantees course access and support for one additional attempt at the FLK1 and/or FLK2 assessment should you need it, provided you have completed 90% of the course content before undertaking your assessment (excluding attendance at weekly live workshops). The Passplus guarantee offers up to 12 months of additional course access, allowing you to choose from the next two exam windows following your result.
