Coventry learndirect team raises money for Zoe’s Place

Zoes Place Photolearndirect staff in Coventry have been raising money for children’s charity Zoe’s Place.

The centre has raised more than £200 for the charity, which provides palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

Zoe’s place receives very little government funding, therefore relying on the support of the public to help raise funds to keep the doors open for many families that rely on their expert care. These services and facilities are provided free of charge to families of the babies and infants, but for every hour of care they provide, for each child, they need to raise £25.

The money was raised by holding ‘dress down’ days in the learndirect centre on the last Friday of each month, with staff contributing £1 each to take part.

Gully Bansal, Business Manager for learndirect at the Coventry centre said: ‘As a team we feel that Zoe’s Place deserves and needs the charity money to provide the care and support that they give to local families. Caring for a life threatening illness can be exhausting and emotionally draining and without the support of charities like Zoe’s Place many families would have no one to turn to.’

A spokesperson for Zoe’s Place said: “Great to see learndirect from the Coventry office call in today with the collection from the staff and managers of £229.01. Thank you for making a difference!”
