Overview

The purpose of this module is to demonstrate a typical working day in a general dental practice and how this impacts the role of the dental nurse. We will look at the routines in the surgery and what duties need to be performed throughout the day. The module is aimed at a ‘typical’ day in a dental surgery in order to identify the minimum working requirements of a dental nurse.

Modules

On completion of this CPD course, you should be able to:

  • Prepare the surgery at the start of the day
  • Support the patient and clinician during treatment
  • Clean and re-set the surgery between patients
  • Clean and re-set the surgery between sessions
  • Close the surgery and removing waste at the end of the day
  • Pass the 20-minute assessment

Requirements

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

Qualifications

On successful completion of your course you will receive the learndirect Certificate of Completion of Training in Surgery Routine (DNNET II vol 1).

Your course certificate will also state the number of CPD points/hours the course is eligible for.
