Job Purpose:

Working in a self-employed, no obligation agreement, you will teach, assess, and support students through their Level 3 Diploma course. To include:

  • Face to Face delivery either Saturday or Sunday for 12 weeks + 2 hours remote delivery a week (Option to share responsibilities with another tutor – eg 6 x Face to Face delivery days and 6 x 2 hour remote lessons over a 12-week period.)
  • Online marking of cohort’s assignments

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assessing and supporting learners to meet the required standards set by the College and appropriate awarding organisations.
  • Assessors will be required to be supportive, helpful and respectful of all students as they embark on their education journey with learndirect.
  • Manage a caseload of learners using a range of online portals
  • Ensure marking of assignment submissions is completed within the organisations required timescales (this is 5 currently working days)
  • Maintain an appropriate level of CPD for all subjects for which you are employed to assess. This includes, where relevant, suitable occupational experience and CPD work experience
  • Maintain the standards of assessing expected by the organisation by complying with all Quality Assurance policies and processes
  • Contribute to the Quality Assurance Framework by attending, and contributing to, a minimum of 2 formal standardisation meetings per annum, as arranged by the relevant IQA or Head of Quality
  • Use the agreed messaging systems to communicate with learners to maintain an appropriate audit trail of communications

Fee's will vary dependent on services. Online marking will be paid at £5 - £30 per assignment passed. For face to face delivery sessions you will be paid a daily rate of £150.

What we are looking for in you:

• Have worked as a Personal trainer for a minimum of 2 years

• Up to date CPD records

• Have an excellent level of communication skills and written English

• Have previous experience in assessing/ Teaching

• Must have a recognised qualification at level 3 or higher in Personal training

• Must hold an assessing qualification such as CAVA level 3 or A1 (or equivalent)

• Have the ability to problem solve using own initiative

• Be able to provide high quality Teaching and assessment decisions

• Be digitally skilled in Microsoft Office, email and other commonly used platforms
