Job purpose:

Working under a self-employed, no- obligation agreement you will assess and support students through their course in the Fitness faculty.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assessing and supporting learners to meet the required standards set by the College and appropriate awarding organisations.
  • Assessors will be responsible for marking learners’ assignments within the different courses.
  • Assessors will be required to be supportive, helpful and respectful of all students as they embark on their education journey.
  • Manage a caseload of learners using a range of online portals
  • Ensure marking of assignment submissions is completed within the organisations required timescales (this is 5 currently working days)
  • Maintain an appropriate level of CPD for all subjects for which you are employed to assess. This includes, where relevant, suitable occupational experience and CPD work experience
  • Maintain the standards of assessing expected by the organisation by complying with all Quality Assurance policies and processes
  • Contribute to the Quality Assurance Framework by attending, and contributing to, a minimum of 2 formal standardisation meetings per annum, as arranged by the relevant IQA or Head of Quality
  • Use the agreed messaging systems to communicate with learners to maintain an appropriate audit trail of communications

What we are looking for in you:

• Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training.

• Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates- Matwork.

• Have worked as a Personal trainer or Pilates instructor for a minimum of 2 years

• Demonstrate active and up to date industry relevant CPD records.

• Have an excellent level of communication skills and written English

• Must have a recognised qualification at level 3 or higher in Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training & Level 3 Pilates

• Must hold an assessing qualification such as CAVA level 3 or A1 (or equivalent)

• Tutors must hold, or be working towards, a teaching qualification.

The following are acceptable:

• Level 3 Award in Education and Training.

• Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.

• Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
