About your Course

This level 4 diploma builds on the knowledge gained during your level 3 studies. This course will cover a wide range of topics including advanced pool and aquatic treadmill techniques designed to treat common orthopaedic and neurological conditions and aid recovery post-surgery.

You will learn how to treat, care for and handle animals correctly and safely, as well as how to develop treatment programmes for your patients. This will include ways of monitoring progress and assessing the impact of hydrotherapy on the animal.

This course will also teach you how to set up and run your own hydrotherapy business, including how to define your offering, manage your accounts and communicate effectively with your clients.

This course will fully prepare you to provide advanced hydrotherapy and laser treatments to small animals, with an emphasis on canines and felines.

In addition, the qualification requires at least 100 logged hours as evidence of practical experience. You can choose to attend practicals at either of our Oxford or Chepstow centres. The centres offer state of the art equipment including gait analysis and underwater treadmills and hydrotherapy pools.

Practical training is provided in classes conducted by an experienced Hydrotherapist and will take part in study teams of five students or under, meaning that you gain essential and valuable 1:1 training and support throughout the process.

You will be required to get in and out of the hydrotherapy pool. Therefore, should you require any support in doing so, ensure this is in place and the centre is aware.

Upon completion of this level 4 Diploma, you will be in a position to gain employment at a senior level within an existing practise or start your own small animal hydrotherapy business.
