Overview
Loneliness and isolation is a growing issue, and it doesn't just affect older people. This Loneliness and Isolation course is for anyone who comes into contact with people who might be lonely or isolated. It will provide an awareness of what isolation and loneliness is, who might be vulnerable, how to spot signs that someone might need help and what you can do to help tackle this issue.
Audience
This course is for anyone who comes into contact with people who might be vulnerable to isolation and loneliness:
- All practitioners who come into contact with people
- Frontline health and social care staff
- Volunteers
- People with friends, relatives and neighbours who might be more at risk of isolation and loneliness.
About this course
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be automatically awarded a certificate containing the course name, completion date, CPD hours and learning objectives.
Objectives
In this course you will learn what isolation and loneliness is, who might be vulnerable, how to spot signs that someone might need help, the challenges you might be faced with when trying to help someone and what you can do to tackle this issue. You will also learn about the different methods and resources available for helping to prevent isolation and loneliness.

What is loneliness and isolation; what impact does isolation and loneliness have on people; who is affected; what are the causes; what are the challenges to tackling isolation and loneliness; what you can do to help prevent it; what resources there are to help
