Studying your GCSE

The study of Chemistry is the scientific discipline of understanding the elements, atoms, molecules and ions; the building blocks of the universe.

You will get the chance to study their composition, structure, properties and behaviours and the changes they undergo during chemical reactions.

This GCSE Chemistry course will help you prepare you for a career in Science or for further study. A GCSE in Chemistry will help you to progress to A level study or equivalent such as an Access to Higher Education Diploma.

There are no entry requirements and unlike class-based courses, you don’t need to wait to register. You can enrol anytime, anywhere in the world.

The course is entirely online, and you can access your study materials from the moment you enrol.

This course bundle includes all your course materials and the two exams you need to gain your GCSE Chemistry. The papers will cover the Properties of Matter, Chemical Change, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Analysis and more. The questions will be a mix of multiple-choice, structured, short answer and open response.

Your exams will be at an exam centre near to you. We will aim to find you a place within 50 miles of your postcode, subject to centre capacity and exam availability.

While the exams will determine your passing grade, practical knowledge is essential to the sciences. That is why you need to take 8 practical lessons alongside your studies.

Note that you will have to book your practical lessons so take that into account when planning your studies.

These practical lessons will give you hands-on experience with some of the key principles covered in the course.
