After each lesson there will be a question paper which needs to be completed and submitted to your assessor for marking.
This method of continual assessment ensures that your assessor can consistently monitor your progress and provide you with assistance throughout the duration of the course.
You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper. The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is 140 hrs.
As part of your course you will be required to secure a placement in a suitable environment. You must have a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice/experience as part of this qualification to meet the requirements above. You will need to provide audio visual evidence totalling 3 hours to submit to your assessor and demonstrate your competency. These should be separate occasions to show your progression and development.
All trainee teachers joining this qualification programme should undertake an initial assessment of skills in English, mathematics and ICT. They should record their development needs and, where applicable, agree an action plan to address them. If trainees join the qualification programme having already undertaken this assessment, their record of development needs and any previous action taken to address them should be reviewed updated as required.
