By taking this course you will:

- understand how fire starts and how this can be prevented
- identify the different types of fire extinguishers and how they should be used
- understand how to identity hazardous substances and the dangers associated with these
Course coverage also includes reporting procedures as well as Accidents at Work, Hazards in the Workplace, Minor Hazards, Safety Signs, Emergency Escapes, Control of Hazardous Substances and Fire Prevention.
You can learn at your own pace and you'll have 6 months to complete your training. Your access to the course finishes once it has been fully completed. This Health and Safety Level 2* course is mapped to National Occupational Standards and endorsed by Proskills Sector Skills Council.

The control of hazardous substances, COSHH responsibilities, Identifying hazardous substances, Effects of hazardous substances.
Section 6: Fire Prevention
How fire starts, The dangers of fire Fire Hazards, Fire hazard awareness, Fire extinguishers, The 4 types of fire extinguisher, In the event of a fire, Identifying fire extinguishers.
Section 7: First Aid At Work
First aid at work, Fist aid responsibilities, The first aid box, Injuries and Illnesses at work, Dealing with emergencies, The primary survey, Basic life support (CPR), The secondary survey, The recovery position.
Section 8: Health And Hygiene At Work
Promoting a “welfare at work provision”, Good personal hygiene, Washing hands, Stress in the workplace, Causes of stress, Behavioural problems, Smoking, Common food allergies, Food allergies.
The certificate can be downloaded from within the course once the learning has been completed. It provides formal evidence that training has been completed (endorsed by Proskills Sector Skills Council, the Institute of Hospitality [IOH], the Scottish Qualifications Authority [SQA] and Quality Marked by the Hospitality Guild).
