Tesco Bank’s innovative talent pipeline programme
We first partnered with Tesco Bank in September 2014.
Following positive Apprenticeship schemes in other areas of the Tesco Group, Tesco Bank were keen to work with us to replicate some of these successes, but also build their own innovative talent pipeline for the future.
After an incredibly popular recruitment process, 14 apprentices got started on the programme and made their mark straight away. Not only did all 14 complete their qualifications within a year, an amazing 100% achievement rate, but all 14 went on to secure permanent roles in the business. With one securing promotion into a supervisory position in double-quick time!
A second cohort of learners started in January 2016 and are doing great work, across two locations, with Tesco Bank looking at the potential to extend their programme into their insurance business in the future.
Tesco Retail Apprenticeships – rising stars and future managers
In April 2016, we extended our partnership with Tesco Group to support the delivery of Apprenticeships to existing colleagues in retail stores across England.
Tesco colleagues identified as rising stars or future managers were given the opportunity to apply for our Retail level 2 Apprenticeship programme, to take their career to the next level. With over 600 nominations and applications so far, we’re sure this approach to training existing staff will continue to be incredibly successful and look forward to sharing more here as the programme progresses.
