Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council (DMBC) have been pioneering Apprenticeships in the public sector, recruiting around 50 Apprentices each year to its specialised Apprenticeship Academy.
We’ve been working with DMBC for 9 years, and together we have created a tailored Apprenticeship programme including Business Administration, Customer Services, IT, Team Leading. We’re currently expanding the programme further to include Management, Childcare, Health and Social Care and Teaching Assistant opportunities.
For DMBC, Apprenticeships form an integral part of succession planning and staff retention and by working closely with the team there throughout the recruitment process we can ensure the right candidates for the best possible roles. Applications are managed by learndirect, with candidates pre-screened and interviewed by our applicant management team and quality candidates passed on to the Recruiting Manager at DMBC.
Once an apprentice is in post, we provide full Apprenticeship training and support, working to ensure the Apprentices gain the practical skills and qualifications required to complete the qualification and for their future career at DMBC.
