We’ve been working with the British Chambers of Commerce, Personnel Today and ERSA.
We’re currently working with British Chambers of Commerce on a series of roundtables and business briefings looking at the problems facing business in terms of skills, staff retention and the readiness of candidates and school leavers for work. The first roundtable took place in Manchester last month and included representatives from the local chamber’s Employer Skills Group. Discussion focused on Apprenticeships and how businesses need information and advice to ‘enlighten not frighten’ them and there’s more information here
We’ve also been working with the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA) and other Work Programme prime providers, on their Proud to Work campaign. The campaign was launched in September and has a dedicated microsite which features video case studies of a cross section of Work Programme customers as well as a link to a report from Europe Economics called The Economic Impact of the Work Programme.
Finally we’ve been doing some work with Personnel Today, a series of articles looking at various issues regarding training in the workplace. You can access the articles and other information here.
