Here you’ll find a variety of reports from learndirect. These include our responses to government consultation documents as well as white papers and other learndirect reports.

  • Nurturing talent: building the workforce of the future – Produced in association with Cranfield University in April 2013, this report looks at how things have changed in the five years since we published our original Nurturing talent report – focusing on the current issue of youth unemployment, skills development in young people and how Apprenticeships can help this.
  • The Leitch Review seven years on – still relevant and achievable? – A white paper we produced in May 2013, in conjunction with Training Journal. In 2006 Lord Leitch set out his ambitions to make the UK a world leader in skills by 2020. Seven years on – at the midway point – we take a look at whether his goals are still relevant and achievable.
  • Work ready: Get fit for the job – This April 2012 report makes ten recommendations which would improve people’s skills and help to smooth the recruitment process for employers and jobseekers whilst saving millions of pounds.
  • Work Confident Report – A report from learndirect, released as part of the Make it Count campaign in September 2011, based on research which shows a lack of confidence is holding back the nation’s job prospects.
  • JHP IES for Sustainable Employment Report – A May 2011 report from JHP Group (prior to our merger) and CESI which explores the current role of integrated employment and skills, and proposes new measures for greater integration to achieve more sustainable employment
  • Worth Learning Guidelearndirect, in collaboration with financial expert Jasmine Birtles and Citizens Advice, launched the Worth Learning Guide in 2011 to help people manage their money.
  • 10 years of learndirect – Progression Report – A report from learndirect in 2010, showing how our learners progress in their career, education or life after learning with us.
  • 10 years of learndirect – A report to celebrate learndirect’s 10th anniversary in 2010, outlining how things have developed at learndirect and in the sector generally since 2000.
