New call for Expressions of Interest:
learndirect is inviting quotes for the production of a toolkit of Local Labour Market Information (LMI) for Lancashire covering the LEP area and the 6 areas of Lancashire defined by the ‘Travel to Work Areas’ that are within the LEP area.
The Lancashire Skills and Employment Board, which is part of the LEP, is responsible for identifying skills and employment priorities within the LEP area. To support this work a strategic framework and associated research was used to create Local Market Information fact sheets for the LEP priority sectors. These fact sheets provide key information about each of the sectors in Lancashire as follows:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Creative and Digital
- Energy and Environmental Technologies
- Health and Social Care
- Financial and Professional Services
- Visitor Economy
They also signpost to further information and resources. Local partners are using the LMI fact sheets and find them useful – for example, schools, colleges and private providers, teachers, tutors, careers professionals, JCP staff and stakeholders.
learndirect is now commissioning a piece of work to expand the LMI information available and to produce a toolkit of information that partners can access to support activity. The toolkit should help education providers and organisations supporting NEETs and unemployed adults to inform the people they support about the opportunities that are within their travel to work area, as well as identify the most significant businesses in each of the localities to support the targeting of activity. The development of the toolkit will build upon the existing research by providing updated Labour Market Information at both a LEP area level and by Travel to Work Areas, and include information regarding education, attainment and key businesses within each locality.
The tender is available on https://learndirect.bravosolution.co.uk/web/login.shtml. To see the tender you will need to register as a supplier if you have not already done so.
The deadline for submission for these opportunities is Friday 1st December 2017 12noon.
